"I intend to live forever. So far, so good." - Steven Wright
Hey, if it's raining men, I don't mind getting wet. Let's have a deluge!More snow is expected by Monday night. I might relocate to Bora Bora.....
it would have to rain hairy bears for me...
If it's raining men, every woman will get a bucketful of dudes! Have you every had fantasies about being attended to by multiple studs, Anne Marie?
hell yeah! :)
M'ning, A.M.Can it really be that 'The Weather Girls' reached only #46 in their home country with this 1983/4, now evergreen ditty, still oft played here on radio progs, both requested and otherwise? Can hardly believe it! It achieved a much more plausible #2 here - and was (and probably still is) a regular to jiggle around to on the European disco floors that I frequented around then. But there you are. There's no accounting for tastes. When the news about the demise of a certain Mr Maurice White appeared on our news progs I'm afraid that he was yet another recently departed to whose my initial reaction was "Who?". But when E, W & F were mentioned all became clear. My Goodness, they are all falling off their perches in rapid succession this year, with barely five weeks gone! - and I don't just mean those with music connections. So far we've had, in addition, actors, politicians, and only last week our biggest radio personality going when there'd been no sign of it happening. Are you finding similar happenings? I hope it stops, or at least slows down, otherwise at this rate there'll soon be no one left to entertain us.Sat morning greetings to all in Philly. Hope you and the others are well as you start coming out of Winter, or is it too early to be that optimistic? We've got a cold week coming up but one gets the feeling that the upswing has begun. Quickly please! We are all rubbing along relatively nicely here, thank you.Do have the pleasantest of w/es.'Speak' to you later.Byeeeee!
my song choice still gets mucho airplay here.the deaths DO seem to be coming rawther (a nod to spo) quickly; and the people dying are not that old - hell, they are OUR age! fucking scary. we should all be living to age 90+, like betty white.we still have remnants of the 30 inch snowfall of a fortnight ago, so no spring yet. dammit.
So little time left, A.M. (Well, one never really knows, does one?), and still so much to do. Maybe the upcoming primaries in New Hampshire will put a bit of sunshine into your life to help melt that pesky snow that's left? No, I didn't think so either. Well, I'll hope for rain to wash it away, then - and perhaps it'll be the type of rain that the Weather Girls are warbling about. Now wouldn't that be fun?
we are supposed to have 1-3 inches of snow starting monday night. shit. :(I wish it were hairy bears instead... :)
:-( That's shit indeed!
WHY can't it be hairy beary men instead? (wails)
All I can say, is if that last snow fall had been men....nobody would be seeing or hearing from me till next fall!!!! Have a nice weekend. I am planning on cooking...a creme of cauliflower soup, mac and cheese casserole, tea biscuits. I like to cook alot then freeze for future meals.
ummmmmmmm, your tea biscuits are to die for! and would you have the stamina for all those men?
Its raining here but unfortunately not men. Gee what a predictable post. Miss M I want to come to your place.JP
pity it's NOT men; what would guido do?
It has been a long - long - long time since I saw it raining men - I don't know as I could survive that today.
me neither; and I have 15+ years on you! ;-b
Love me some Weather Girls. And I had a teeny crush on Maurice back in the day.Have a faboosh weekend!
oooooooooh, bob spills another secret crush!
I have so many and so many aren't even secret. But I did love to watch Maurice perform!
that's when music was REAL; not this bullshit crap pushed today.
"It's Raining Men"... I know what you mean, on my blog as well, haha. :D And "Boogie Wonderland" is so good, such a classic. Still a radio-hit.
RECOGNIZE that the 3 degrees (the ladies in boogie wonderland) are philly homegirls! your blog needs more hairy bears...
I love that song. I hope all is well. We're going to have record heat during the next few days here in SoCal, but at night the temps will drop to just above freezing. It must be Spring already.
we could use a bit o warm here in philly...
So colourful, so campy ... so fun. And how is it that Keith Richards is still alive and kicking (while others aren't)? I hope Keith donates his body to science when the time comes so that we all may learn his secret.~ Freckles
"how is it that Keith Richards is still alive and kicking" - I KNOW! I said this very thing to a co-worker this week. must be all those drugs he took...
RIP Maurice. I miss bands with horn sections and background singers that can make you move like you're still alive.
I still love "boogie wonderland"; DISCO NEVER DIES!
RIP, Maurice.I'm probably one of the few that was never a huge Earth, Wind and Fire fan:(
You're not alone. I never warmed up to them....
What is going on with all these deaths? I just read Zsa Zsa turned 99 today. Talk about being as old as earth wind and fire. I did enjoy both videos. I wish it would rain men one day.
@sandra & @jon - I wasn't either, but they had a great sound that was different from the others; it's the horns. kinda like chicago (the group, not the city).@magpie - zsa zsa is a zombie at this point. what kind of men would you like to have raining down upon you?
Both groups have a unique sound, but unfortunately, I wasn't a really big Chicago fan either.
Jon and Anne Marie,Whew, glad it wasn't just me.
everybody has their own likes/dislikes. some people like abba; abba will NEVER appear on THIS blog!
Ha! You know I wasn't a huge Abba fan until Mamma Mia. Now I appreciate them. Maybe not a huge fan, but appreciate them:)
NO ABBA! EVER! ABBA SUX!
I wish it would rain some men where I live. rjjs
all you get is snow. and football wins. and no men. :(
Alas, it is nearly always sunshine here in the Valley of the Sun.
so you will never get to see it rain men then.perhaps there will be some innteresting men at inndulge to view (see what I did there?).
I'm alittle late to the dance party this week. I found an old EWF live concert on iTunes and have been playing it for days.
NO ONE is EVAH late to MY dance party! :)
Happy Valentine's Day, Anne Marie. I trust you get plenty of chocolate:)
PS Well Happy VDay Sunday:)
