Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"It's Raining Men" - praise the FSM!

A bonus - RIP, Maurice White
(repeat from 03/09/13).

  1. Hey, if it's raining men, I don't mind getting wet. Let's have a deluge!

More snow is expected by Monday night. I might relocate to Bora Bora.....

  2. If it's raining men, every woman will get a bucketful of dudes! Have you every had fantasies about being attended to by multiple studs, Anne Marie?

Can it really be that 'The Weather Girls' reached only #46 in their home country with this 1983/4, now evergreen ditty, still oft played here on radio progs, both requested and otherwise? Can hardly believe it! It achieved a much more plausible #2 here - and was (and probably still is) a regular to jiggle around to on the European disco floors that I frequented around then. But there you are. There's no accounting for tastes.

When the news about the demise of a certain Mr Maurice White appeared on our news progs I'm afraid that he was yet another recently departed to whose my initial reaction was "Who?". But when E, W & F were mentioned all became clear. My Goodness, they are all falling off their perches in rapid succession this year, with barely five weeks gone! - and I don't just mean those with music connections. So far we've had, in addition, actors, politicians, and only last week our biggest radio personality going when there'd been no sign of it happening. Are you finding similar happenings? I hope it stops, or at least slows down, otherwise at this rate there'll soon be no one left to entertain us.

Sat morning greetings to all in Philly. Hope you and the others are well as you start coming out of Winter, or is it too early to be that optimistic? We've got a cold week coming up but one gets the feeling that the upswing has begun. Quickly please!
We are all rubbing along relatively nicely here, thank you.
Do have the pleasantest of w/es.
    'Speak' to you later.
    Byeeeee!

    1. my song choice still gets mucho airplay here.

the deaths DO seem to be coming rawther (a nod to spo) quickly; and the people dying are not that old - hell, they are OUR age! fucking scary. we should all be living to age 90+, like betty white.

we still have remnants of the 30 inch snowfall of a fortnight ago, so no spring yet. dammit.

    2. So little time left, A.M. (Well, one never really knows, does one?), and still so much to do.

Maybe the upcoming primaries in New Hampshire will put a bit of sunshine into your life to help melt that pesky snow that's left? No, I didn't think so either. Well, I'll hope for rain to wash it away, then - and perhaps it'll be the type of rain that the Weather Girls are warbling about. Now wouldn't that be fun?

  9. I love that song. I hope all is well. We're going to have record heat during the next few days here in SoCal, but at night the temps will drop to just above freezing. It must be Spring already.

  10. So colourful, so campy ... so fun. And how is it that Keith Richards is still alive and kicking (while others aren't)? I hope Keith donates his body to science when the time comes so that we all may learn his secret.

    2. What is going on with all these deaths? I just read Zsa Zsa turned 99 today. Talk about being as old as earth wind and fire. I did enjoy both videos. I wish it would rain men one day.

    3. @sandra & @jon - I wasn't either, but they had a great sound that was different from the others; it's the horns. kinda like chicago (the group, not the city).

@magpie - zsa zsa is a zombie at this point. what kind of men would you like to have raining down upon you?

    4. Both groups have a unique sound, but unfortunately, I wasn't a really big Chicago fan either.
