This is how I am feeling right now.
Dance like no one's watching.
Sing like no one's listening.
"I'm Looking For A New Love" - will you be mine, Valentine?
A bonus - RIP, Cajun (02/16/15); you are still much missed and loved. May your olives never run out. (Repeat from 10/25/14)
Jody Watley - I recently watched a documentary about "Soul Train" and it seems Jody Watley began her career in entertainment dancing on that show. Same as Rosie Perez!
ReplyDeleteCondolences to those that knew Cajun.
~ Freckles
a first for freckles! yes, jody did begin on soul train. soul train was where the real music played.
DeleteMmm, she moves her body very nicely, but we gorillas prefer a little more meat on our females. ;)
ReplyDeleteI could give her some of my extra meat, I have plenty to go around. but she better teach me her dance moves in return!
DeleteYes A.M. RIP Cajun. I never got to meet him but before he pasted Cajun left some kind comments on my blog. Sorry I haven't been around much, as you suggested trying to get a new life or just holding together the old one. I'm doing OK just waiting for Spring to get here. Randy H.
ReplyDeletethe cajun was a dear person, so full of life and love. and spring starts this wednesday with the opening of BASEBALL SEASON! :)
DeleteM'ning, A.M.
ReplyDeleteI don't know either of these tracks and can't hear them either because.....blah, blah, blah. I see that the first of them got to #13 here in '87 so if I could play it I'd probably recognise it.
Is all well with you and yours. We're relatively hunky-dory here. Another wintry blast, just begun, is set to last us over the next few days. Please let that be the final one. I suppose your own unmelted snow still remains around?
And with my own salute to the Cajun memory I'll say......
Have a luverly w/e and -
Byeeeee!
morning raybeard. currently 10F here with below 0 wind chills. we did not go out of doors yesterday, nor will we do so today. AND spouse has a very nasty cold, so his butt is in bed.
Deleteyes, the snow piles still linger from a few weeks ago. BUT baseball season begins this wednesday, with a rise in temps. and a rise in my internal sap that spring is almost here.
the cajun was a good man; wish you could have met him in person.
happy valentines day to you and the pussies!
Thanks, A.M. Although the day means zilch to me (for all practical purposes) I'll convey your wishes to the pussies. They will, like I do, appreciate the spirit for which it's intended.
DeleteBTW: You remind us, on another esteemed person's blog, that you are Virgo with a Libran hubby. I can tell you that I'm Libra with a rising Virgo. How strange is that? Whooooo! We are obviously fated to meet!
Now I'll leave you to pursue your mourning for that Justice Scaley or something, for whom you must be in deep shock. R.I.P. (with bells on?)
Now now, A.M.! From his picture (which is all I know of him) this Justice Scaleyback looked to be quite the jolly fellow. (Didn't ex-Pres Dubya just describe him as having been a man of good judgment?) It was so sad to read that he croaked just at a time which interrupted his hunting trip - taking lethal pot shots at harmless animals, one reckons. Still, if that's the way he he preferred to go he got his way.
DeleteIt snows
ReplyDeleteit melts
It snows
it melts
It's snowing again tonight
No sign of melting.
Winter SUCKS, Big Time....
I'm dancing
with Mary Chapin Carpenter
and thinkin' of spring.
Never met Cajun
but he left kind comments on my blog.
The kind ones always go first...
....the bastards stay with us.....
Happy Heart Day
I'm not implying that any of us are bastards...
Deletejust to make that clear.
(do I use too many dots?........)
I have known many bastards in my time; my blog friends are not bastards. I wish you had had the pleasure of meeting/drinking with the cajun; a delightful gentleman!
DeleteI LOVE me some Jody Watley!!!! I thought it was cold back home till I got to Ohio yesterday. OMB!!!!! I'll always be one of your valentines my sweet♥♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteHVD, maddie! hold on to those cold balls of yours! or get the lad to warm them up! (wink wink)
DeletePs.....just so your aware, the OMB is code for oh my balls!
ReplyDeleteactually, in my knitting/crochet internet social group, OMB means "oh my bob". the social group creators have a french bulldog named "bob"; he is the group mascot.
Deletebut, since I have invisible balls, OMB are ready to drop off in this cold!
Happy Valentines Anne Marie. I know you ain't really lookin for a new love cause your current love just won a new shirt!
ReplyDeleteHVD to my fearsome! and how wonderful that a spo-shirt will be living at my house!

ReplyDeleteshame you never met the cajun; he had a wonderful smile and laugh. a true gentleman from new orleans.
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day, and I miss listening to Mary Chapin Carpenter back when I was on a country kick in the 90s.
ReplyDeleteI love Jody. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteJP

DeleteThe Jody video is classic late 80s. Brings back memories of fun times in Dallas. Thanks. RJJS
