Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"When the Going Gets Tough" - the tough get rough (who DOESN'T like it a little rough?  wink wink nudge nudge)!

Because YOU Asked For It!

The following people have requested the recipe:

Bob
Jon
Sandra
Jay
Dr. Spo

I aims to please!  And I challenge Blobby to make this for himself and 710!  I would also like to see Fearsome Beard try this!

tomato soup cake

2 cups flour
1-1/3 cups sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 can (10.75 oz) tomato soup (like campbell’s)
1/2 cup olive oil (or canola or sunflower)
2 eggs
1/4 cup water

*********************************************

preheat oven to 350 degrees F

spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray

dump all ingredients into a mixing bowl

mix for 1 minute on low speed, then for 4 minutes on high speed

pour batter into bundt pan

bake for 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean (your oven, your mileage may vary)

let cake cool on wire rack for 20 minutes before removing it from bundt pan

frost with buttercream or cream cheese icing

this makes a nice spice cake; you would NEVER guess the secret ingredient (the tomato soup) because you cannot taste it!

More Signs on a Sultry Summer Day

It's HOT outside (and not in a good way either).  :(

So whilst I indulge in a cock-a-tail (or three) with Mistress Maddie's spirit hovering about, I decided to post some scenes about the house.

Two twitches of tails whilst bird watching

Nyla airing out her undercarriage

The crape myrtle is in bloom

Tomato soup cake (just like Dr. Spo's birthday cake) hot outta da oven!  I baked this yesterday; it's almost gone

 Outta da bundt pan!

Who wants a slice?  I added some buttercream icing!
I'd love to see Blobby tackle this cake!
If ya want the recipe, just ask!

The first beefsteak tomato from the garden, along with more cherry (grape) tomatoes

Cukes too (do these remind you of anyone you know?)
We gave these to our neighbors

Signs on a Sultry Summer Day

It's HOT outside (and not in a good way either).  :(

So whilst I indulge in a cock-a-tail (or three) with Mistress Maddie's spirit hovering about, I decided to post some scenes about the house.

Miss Oreo tries to beat the heat by airing out her undercarriage

Miss Gigi likes it better in the sun on the porch

And Miss Nyla likes her bed in the air-conditioned living quarters

NOTE to Dr. Spo: the kitty drawing is colored pencil by a friend of spouse
It's there to inspire you to "make good art"

In the backyard, the hosta is blooming

Black-eyed Susans (why not Veronicas, or Mildreds)

Day lillies

Belladonna

 Wild geraniums

My grandmother used to call these "wild strawberries"; have never eaten one; don't know if they are poison or not

In the garden, the cukes are a-growing

As are the tomatoes

And the cherry (grape) tomatoes

And the peppers

A cucumber flower (with a curly cue); just like Walt's!

My "tequila sunrise" shawl in progress

Now time for a refresher cock-a-tail; gotta go unload the dishwasher, start a load of laundry, and throw ingredients in the breadmaker (1 loaf of honey oatmeal coming up!).
